We are pleased to share the publication of Deliverable 4.2.1 – Rules for Content Creation and Sharing. This deliverable defines the governance framework that will guide how open-access learning resources are created, uploaded, reviewed, and shared on the EDIDesK digital learning platform, with a strong focus on quality, ethics, and accessibility.

The deliverable is available in five languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Polish, and Slovak.

What the deliverable covers

D4.2.1 sets out a clear and operational set of rules to support a collaborative and responsible content ecosystem on EDIDesK. In particular, it includes:

User roles and permissions (e.g., Contributors, Learners, Reviewers, Platform Coordinator) and how they interact within the platform workflow.
Repository rules, including content types, mandatory metadata, licensing/embargo considerations, and compliance requirements.
Accessibility standards and an accessibility checklist, supporting inclusive use and adoption of best practices (e.g., readable documents, captions/transcripts, alt text for informative images).
Quality and ethical standards, including guidance on respectful content, privacy considerations, and a reporting/triage mechanism for potentially problematic content.
Itineraries and glossary governance, defining requirements and review processes for curated learning paths and shared terminology.

How this supports WP4

D4.2.1 contributes directly to WP4 – “Design and implementation of an open-access digital learning platform on Design for EDI”. WP4 aims to design and implement a platform that enables the upload and download of multilingual open-access content on Design for EDI, building on the outcomes produced in WP2 and WP3 to promote inclusivity in higher education. By defining rules, roles, and review mechanisms, D4.2.1 provides the foundation for consistent content governance as the platform evolves and moves towards implementation and public release.
